Vision

To shape policy and foster a community of professionals who drive sustainable development and responsible business conduct across all sectors of the economy.

Mission

To serve as the professional body for sustainability practitioners in Namibia, advancing ESG excellence through standards development, advocacy, reporting guidance, and professional capacity building.

Our Purpose

ESG Association Namibia is a Section 21 company established to serve as the professional body for sustainability and corporate governance practitioners in Namibia. Our purpose, as set out in our founding documents, is fourfold:

We promote good governance in ESG matters. We help organisations understand what sustainability data is most critical to their business – both for informing decision-making and for meeting growing disclosure obligations. We support the development of clear data ownership and governance, robust collection and management processes, and established procedures for testing, verifying, and improving the quality of non-financial information. This governance foundation also positions organisations to access green and climate-linked financial instruments that reward credible ESG performance.

We serve as the professional body for sustainability and corporate governance practitioners. We provide a professional home for practitioners committed to embedding responsible business practices across all sectors of the Namibian economy. We safeguard the integrity and standing of the sustainability profession through recognised standards, a code of professional conduct, and active engagement in public affairs and policy development.

We advance education, research, and knowledge sharing in ESG practice, impact assessment, and reporting. We build and share the knowledge that practitioners and organisations need to navigate the rapidly evolving sustainability landscape. This includes alignment with international standards such as the ISSB (IFRS S1 and S2), GRI, NamCode, and King IV, as well as emerging frameworks on nature-related disclosures (TNFD), social-related disclosures (TISFD), and sustainable finance.

We facilitate professional development through training and mentorship. Actionable, high-quality sustainability data depends on people who understand what good data looks like and how to produce it. We invest in building professional capacity through structured training programmes, mentorship, and professional designations that assess and recognise competency.
